Facials

Facial skincare is as unique as you are. Since skin is the largest organ in your body, it can often reflect internal and external stressors on the body! Skin cells generally take up to one month to regenerate, which is why it is ideal to come in for a monthly facial. However, we recommend receiving a facial at least four times a year, as the season changes- although you may need more regular facials to help achieve improvement with skincare concerns you may have. The typical facial at Chocolat Day Spa generally lasts about an hour or longer for our extended facial services. Chocolat Day Sp customizes each facial experience to our clients’ specific needs and our goal is to help you receive the benefits of great skincare. Some things to expect with our facials:

• Your aesthetician will evaluate your skin type and find treatments that will help neutralize any skin issues as well as best tone and moisturize your skin type.
• The skin will be thoroughly cleansed and dead skin cells will be exfoliated.
• Your aesthetician may use steam with an enzyme treatment for deeper exfoliation.
• If necessary, you may have gentle extraction of blackheads.
• Our facials include facial massage as well as neck, shoulder, and arm massage with applications of various creams and moisturizers.
• Your facialist will provide advice for treating your skin type and recommend how to best care for your skin at home between appointments. (Chocolat Day Spa uses top quality products from lines such as Rhonda Allison- most of which are available for retail, but our staff is non-commission so we only make recommendations based on our belief in the systems we use and how we feel our clients would benefit from them.)
• While most of the time you can tell immediately that you’ve just had a facial by your glowing skin, some people experience prolonged reactions to facials due to skin sensitivities. For this reason, it is generally advised that clients DO NOT have facials within two to three days of any major event as it sometimes takes a few days for any skin issues to clear up.

Chocolat Day Spa’s Balancing Facial is just one of the steps to maintaining healthy, clear skin but it is also a relaxing way to complete yourself that is unique to you! All of our facials are catered to our client’s skin type or problem areas so a Balancing Facial is great for our first-time clients so that our aestheticians can evaluate individual skincare needs. Everyone’s skin is different, but whether your skin is dry, oily, sensitive or normal, whether you have acne or rosacea or hyper-pigmentation, there is a facial system to cater to your needs. 

Deep Cleansing facials are recommended for clients prone to oily or acneic skin or for those with uneven complexions. Men and women can take advantage of the benefits of deep-cleansing facials, which generally incorporate a combination of thorough steaming, deep cleansing, facial extractions to remove pore-clogging sebum, and a variation of a healing mask and moisturizer. Salicylic and glycolic acids aimed at managing and thwarting acne flare-ups are often utilized. An aesthetician will analyze your skin condition and issues relating to your skin to tailor an individual skin-care program for you. Be sure to let the therapist know if you are on any acne medications already because some products do not react well with acne/deep-cleansing facials. In many cases, more than one treatment is needed to achieve the desired result, but generally a series of acne/deep cleansing facials as well as an at-home regimen that features a daily skin-care regimen is recommended for ideal results.

Anti-Aging Facial                             $75

Anti-aging facials use products and techniques designed to slow the aging process, brighten skin, and reduce wrinkles. If you’re on the quest for younger-looking skin, you’re in luck! There are a variety of anti-aging treatments including utilizing vitamin-infused serums, collagen creams, and rejuvenating facial massage techniques. If you want to fight the war against wrinkles, enlisting in an anti-aging facial treatment is a great strategy. Facials are designed to rejuvenate skin with all elements- from exfoliation (sloughing away dead, skin-dulling cells,) to moisturizing to massage (improving circulation,) acting together to improve skin texture. The anti-aging facial is also an effective preventative measure when it comes to the aging process and is a great alternative if you want to avoid surgery in lieu of something much less invasive.

Teen Facial $70

Our Teen Facials are designed to specifically address breakouts that are frequently associated with adolescent skin. Teen facials typically begin with a deep cleansing, followed by gentle extractions. A healing mask will then help to rehydrate dry, flaky skin, or eliminate oily particles. Created with the teen’s complexion needs in mind, these facials can help with persisting teen skincare troubles or prevent them before the problem starts. As an added bonus—they teach teens the importance of preemptive skincare since our aestheticians are available to consult with teens regarding at-home regimens to maintain consistent skincare results. Chocolat Day Spa must insist that guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Gentleman's Facial $70

Spas are not just for women anymore; these days more and more men are seeking out spa treatments! Facials for men are specifically formulated to male needs, which are often shaving-related, such as razor burn, or other conditions like skin sensitivity and dullness. They also target issues such as skin roughened by spending time in the great outdoors, acne, excessive sweating, living in a city, and skin conditions related to aging. Deep-pore cleansing, moisturizing, exfoliation, toning, and relaxing facial, neck, arm, and shoulder massages are included during men’s facials. Different products are used for men's and women's facials, and when essential oils are used, more traditionally masculine scents are the norm. Men may need to schedule a series of facial treatments to see optimal results.

Signature Facial $90

Take everything you love about our Balancing Facial and upgrade it to the next level of relaxation and rejuvenation! We use our premiere Rhonda Allison products from the Platinum Series whose potency delivers even more impressive results for a wide variety of skin types whether your issues are skin brightening, rosacea, or anti-aging. The Signature Facial also includes a super moisturizing paraffin treatment for your hands that will leave them feeling soft and silky smooth! Clients are to note that the Signature Facial allots extra time for the enzymes and masks to do their work on the skin while our aestheticians massage the face, neck, shoulders, and arms so the total time for this service is around ninety minutes.
